Starting with the raw material
The linen used here has undergone quality tests from the moment it was harvested as a raw material. The choice of the yarn is extremely important to assure a luxurious and high quality fabric which will be soft and resisant to wear.
Fabric by one of the finest Italian mills
A lightweight linen woven in Italy by Canclini, one of the oldest and very few remaining italian shirting fabric mill. It has a beautifully soft hand feel, and it rumples beautifully as it wears in whilst maintaining a certain tailored sharpness over time. Canclini being located in Como, this allows Canclini to hire very highly skilled artisans for the simple reason that Como is the center for italian silk and fabric manufacturing. The softness of the water in Como makes it one of the world's finest waters in the world to get a luxurious touch to the fabric.
The fabric is then sent over to a small atelier in Naples, which employs roughly 8 shirt-makers. The body of the popover shirt is cut generously to ensure extreme comfort in high heat, and the hem is cut straight with side-splits to emphasize the relaxed Riviera style. Handmade steps include the cutting of the patterns, button attachment, buttonholes, armholes and bar tacks.
