The cotton used here is a cotton that is sourced from a heritage mill in England. Cotton is a naturally breathable and absorbent fiber.
A lightweight 100% Cotton Moleskin fabric weighing 300 gsm, and woven & dyed in the mill in England. Moleskin fabric is typically extremely heavy, dense and durable with a tight weave on one side and a softer brushed finish on the other. The lighter weight Moleskin Informale selected for this shirt feels very soft and luxurious, requiring little break-in time whilst retaining it's original durability and warmth. This fabric emphasises the work shirt's workwear roots and allows it to age beautifully over years of wear. Finally comes the density of the weave - quite sturdy and surprisingly warm.
The fabric is then sent over to Informale's atelier in Melbourne, where it is handcut and sewed to make the work shirt. Modeled after a heavily worn Vintage Factory Workers Shirt from 1950’s France, this work shirt is an interesting hybrid between a jacket and shirt designed to be easily thrown on over any outfit. Featuring an unlined construction, the minimal design ensures an elevated look which pairs perfectly with tailored pieces, just as well as casual wear.
