Made with 100% bull calf & nubuck

Perfect for an elevated casual setting

A calf from Europe

The calf leather used here comes from a remarkable bull-calf hide from priviledged breeding in France, Switzerland and Germany. This is how J.Hopenstand is able to get high-quality hides spared of any scar, scratch or assault.

A long tanning process

The hide is then sent to the tanneries in France, where thanks to alchemists, the delicate hide is turned into a strong piece of leather. First, the hide is cleaned with water and rendered flexible, before being exposed to tanning agents. The wet-blue hide is then immersed into grinders, exposed to chromium suplhate and water, and left to ripe. The hide is now a piece of leather that can be dyed in the grinder, nourished with oil, and dried and stretched. The next step for one side of the belt is to dampen and grain the leather.

A perfect cutting

The best artisans from France and Switzerland, issued from Compagnons du Devoir and Meilleurs Ouvriers de France associations of highly skilled craftsmen, can finally cut the leather, put together, thread and sew the belt. The edges of the belt are sanded and coloured up to five times, the buckle hand-polished and covered with palladium. The lining is also made of leather.

DETAILS & CARE
Care advice for nubuck: to maintain it, brush it regularly. In case of a greasy stain, do not use water to clean it. Instead, wipe the stain with a cotton cloth and cover it with with "Terre de Sommières" powder for 5 to 10 minutes. Do not hesitate to repeat until stain is gone. Care advice for the calf leather:
1. Slightly moisten a smooth cotton cloth
2. Gently rub the leather in circles
3. Let it dry for 5 minutes
4. Use the dry part of your cotton cloth to polish your leather and make it shine. In case of a greasy stain, do not use water to clean it. Instead, wipe the stain with a cotton cloth and cover it with with "Terre de Sommières" powder for 5 to 10 minutes.
Do not hesitate to repeat until stain is gone.
