An Egyptian cotton
The cotton used here is an Egyptian cotton which has undergone quality tests from the moment it was harvested as a raw material. Just like the rare Giza 45 cotton, this cotton has a clean, vibrant and sheen characteristic. The choice of the yarn is extremely important to assure a luxurious and high quality fabric which will be soft and resisant to wear.
A unique Italian mill
A textured, lightweight Cotton Piqué woven in Italy by Canclini, one of the oldest and very few remaining italian shirting fabric mill. It has a beautifully soft hand feel, and the drape on the body emphasizes the relaxed nature of the garment. Canclini being located in Como, this allows Canclini to hire very highly skilled artisans for the simple reason that Como is the center for italian silk and fabric manufacturing. The softness of the water in Como makes it one of the world's finest waters in the world to get a luxurious touch to the fabric.
Handmade in Naples
The fabric is then sent over to a small atelier in Naples, which employs roughly 8 shirt-makers. The polo features a shirt-like construction, a spread collar designed to stand neatly under a jacket, round cuffs with a single button, caramel coloured Mother Of Pearl buttons, and a 23cm front placket with 3 buttons. Handmade steps include the cutting of the patterns, button attachment, buttonholes, armholes and bar tacks.
