The cotton used here is an Egyptian cotton, handpicked along the Nile river in Egypt. The Nile valley is known for its extremely fertile ground. Since no machine is used to pick them up, the result is an extremely strong and long yarn.
The yarns are then woven together to make a fine one ply Egyptian cotton voile. It is important that the yarns picked are tonal, so that the color of the resulting pocket square stays one.
The weaving is done at Simonnot Godard's atelier located in Cambresis, in the North of France.
